A History of Growth
In 1828, Citizens Financial Group got its start as a small community bank called the High Street Bank in Providence, Rhode Island. We’ve come a long way since then.

Today, Citizens Financial Group, Inc. is a $132 billion commercial bank holding company. Headquartered in Providence, R.I., through our subsidiaries we have more than 1,500 branches, approximately 3,900 ATMs and more than 20,900 employees. We operate a 12-state branch network under the Citizens Bank brand in Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont, and the Charter One brand in Illinois, Michigan and Ohio. We have non-branch retail and commercial offices in about 40 states are owned by RBS (The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc).
