CFG launches Colleague Matching Gifts Program during 14th annual Colleague Appreciation Week
Citizens Charitable Foundation will match colleagues’ charitable donations with up to $1,000 annually Providence, R.I. (June 11, 2007) - Citizens Financial Group, Inc. has announced the creation of a Colleague Matching Gifts Program to support colleagues’ personal giving. Citizens Charitable Foundation will annually match individual donations up to $1,000 to non-profit organizations.
The program, which is available to both full- and part-time colleagues, is in recognition of the outstanding support Citizens and Charter One colleagues provide in their communities. In volunteer service alone, colleagues donated more than 334,000 hours to local organizations in 2006.
The announcement coincides with CFG’s 14th annual Colleague Appreciation Week, which is being celebrated from June 11 to 15, 2007 in New England and satellite offices in Virginia and Georgia. Colleague Appreciation Week was celebrated from June 4 to 8, 2007 in the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest. The company-wide celebration recognizes the efforts of CFG’s more than 25,000 colleagues through barbeques, outings, parties, games and prizes.
“As we celebrate CAW, we are pleased to show colleagues our gratitude for all they do by introducing a Matching Gift Program that directly supports the organizations that are most meaningful to them,” said Stephen D. Steinour, President and CEO of Citizens Financial Group, Inc. “Together, by combining our individual and company donations, we look forward to further extending our deep community roots.”
Through the new program, the Citizens Charitable Foundation will match contributions dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000 annually per colleague. For 2007, CFG will match up to $1,000 from the program launch in August through the end of the year.
As part of CAW, Citizens will hold its ninth annual brick dedication ceremony on Monday, June 11, 2007 at Citizens’ headquarters at One Citizens Plaza, Providence. Colleagues and retirees with 25 or more years of service with the company will have their names engraved on bricks in Citizens Plaza as a permanent part of the Citizens history.
This year’s ceremony will honor 128 colleagues, including 38 from New England, 65 from the Mid-Atlantic and 25 from the Midwest. Eleven Mid-Atlantic and Midwest colleagues will travel to Rhode Island to represent their colleagues at the Brick Dedication.
