Citizens Financial Group

2008 Pioneer Award for Leadership in employer-assisted housing from Homes for Working Families

2007 Citizens Financial Group tops national list of adoption-friendly workplaces
Citizens Financial Group ranks first on the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption's list of the top 100 Adoption-Friendly Workplaces in America.

2006 Small Business Administration's (SBA) Export Lender of the Year
The Export Lender Award is presented annually to SBA lenders who have provided significant financing in the SBA Export Working Capital, Export Express and International Trade loan programs. Citizens made 91 Export Express loans totaling more than $4.4 million in New England, the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest states during Fiscal Year 2005 (ending 9/30/05). Citizens produced 47 percent of all Export Express loans made nationally.

2005 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award
The Freedom Award, established in 1996, is the highest award a company can receive for its support of the National Guard and Reserve. Citizens was honored for the company's support of colleagues serving in the National Guard and Reserve and their families. The Department of Defense named Citizens one of 15 employers in the United States to receive the 2005 award from among 1,492 applicants.

2005 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility
Citizens received the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibilty from the Families and Work Institute, US Chamber of Commerce's Center for Workforce Preparation and the Center for Emerging Futures in recognition of its many programs to support employees.

2005 “Pro Patria Award”
Rhode Island Committee for Employee Support of the Guard and Reserve (IESGR) recognized Citizens for its comprehensive military leave policies for not only the employee being activated but also the immediate family.

2005 U.S. Chamber of Commerce “Corporate Stewardship Award”
Citizens Financial Group was selected as one of two companies in the nation to receive this award. Citizens was recognized for advancing important social and economic goals for communities across the country. U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez and U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Thomas J. Donahue presented then CFG President and CEO, Larry Fish with the award.

2004 “Corporate Friend of Children Award” from the Child Welfare League of America
Citizens was selected for its outstanding commitment to and support of programs and services that sustain and serve the community. Citizens Financial Group was nominated to receive this award by Children's Friend in Rhode Island.

2007 Partners for Youth with Disabilities Award
Citizens Bank was recognized at PYD's annual gala for supporting its mentoring programs, designed to empower young people with disabilities reach their full potential.

2007 Hero of the Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation
Citizens Bank was honored for its support in helping the CSNDC provide affordable housing opportunities for the residents of the Codman Square neighborhood in Dorchester, Mass.

2007 No. 1 SBA Lender in Massachusetts
Citizens Bank was recognized by the Small Business Administration at its quarterly partners' meeting for being the No. 1 SBA lender in Massachusetts for 2007.

2007 South Shore Housing Development Corporation
Citizens Bank was recognized at the South Shore Housing Development Corporation's anniversary celebration for its commitment to the organization's affordable housing initiatives.

2007 Founders Award
Citizens Bank was presented the first Founders Award from InnerCity Entrepreneurs for the bank’s support of the organization. ICE has established itself as a proven leader in educating and training urban entrepreneurs to grow their businesses, and in so doing, to retain and create new jobs in the inner-city neighborhoods of cities in Massachusetts.

2007 Leadership Award
Hap, The Region's Housing Partnership, awarded the Leadership Award to Citizens Bank for its continued support in helping the organization revitalize an old neighborhood in Springfield, Mass.

2006 Innovator of the Year Award
Citizens Bank was named Innovator of the Year in the large company category at the Boston Business Journal's Corporate Philanthropy Summit 2006 for its Champions in Action® and Community Gems programs.

2006 United Way “Campaign of the Year Award” to CBM

2006 Economic Opportunity Hall of Fame Award
Organization for a New Equality Because of Citizens Bank's commitment and priority of promoting new ways to address issues of economic self-sufficiency, including financial education and asset development initiatives and the Citizens Housing Bank, Organization for a New Equality (ONE) honored Citizens Bank as a leader in increasing economic opportunity for those most in need.

2006 Friends of Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center Award
Citizens Bank was presented this award for supporting the organization's various programs. Citizens has sponsored BCNC's Oak Street Youth program and the New Year banquet.

2005 Inaugural Recipient of the Commendable Company Award
This award from the New Hampshire Business Resource Center recognizes Citizens commitment to providing dedicated and reliable services to its customers - specifically its Citizens Job Bank program.

2004 Business in the Arts Awards

Corporate Citizenship Award
Citizens Bank was the recipient of the Corporate Citizenship Award from the Philadelphia Region Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission as part of a state-wide program celebrating the commission's 50 Years of Promoting Diversity and Equal Opportunity. The Corporate Citizenship Award is in recognition of our work in multicultural neighborhoods throughout Pennsylvania.

2007 Annual Partner of the Year - The People’s Music School
In recognition of the bank’s “Making Music Matter” community initiative, which provided access to music and music education for Chicagoland’s underserved children, Charter One was honored in 2007 as the Annual Partner of the Year by The People’s Music School in Chicago.

2006 Corporate Citizen's Award
The Latino Resource Center Charter One Senior Vice President Allen Rodriguez, the bank's State Director of Community Affairs, was honored by the Latino Resource Center with their Corporate Citizen's Award

2006 Shaping the Future Award - Metropolitan Family Services
Charter One Bank Illinois was presented with a special recognition at the annual meeting of Metropolitan Family Services when it was presented with the organization's Shaping the Future Award for the bank' commitment to strengthening families.

2006 Corporate Partnership Award - The Cara Program

NAACP's Corporate Champion Award
At the NAACP's Freedom Fund Dinner, Charter One was presented the Corporate Champion Award for Charter One's commitment to affordable housing for African Americans during the past five years.

Corporate Leadership Award - Spanish Coalition for Jobs
Spanish Coalition for Jobs presented Charter One Bank the Corporate Leadership Award. Each year at its annual dinner, SCJ proudly recognizes one outstanding business leader that exemplifies the agency's ideals and presents that company with the Corporate Leadership Award.

Beautiful People Award - Chicago Urban League
Charter One Senior Vice President Allen Rodriguez, the bank's State Director of Community Affairs, was honored by the Chicago Urban League with a Beautiful People Award for his tireless support and contributions to the organization.

Corporate Leadership Award - U.S. Congressman Danny K. Davis
Charter One received the Corporate Leadership Award from U.S. Congressman Danny K. Davis for the Bank's outstanding service commitment to meeting both the banking and community needs of the residents of Illinois' Fourth Congressional District.

2007 Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization, Community Partner Award,
presented for Charter One’s long-standing commitment to improving the economic development of the neighborhood and increasing affordable housing availability.

2006 Best Banker Award
Donna Murray, Vice President of Community Development at Charter One Bank, was awarded the Best Banker Award by the Black Women Contracting Association for her outstanding accomplishment to community development.

Harvest for Hunger Platinum Award: Charter One was recognized with the highest level award for our contribution to Harvest for Hunger. Charter One received the Gold award in 2006, and moved up to the Platinum category in 2007 due to the efforts and donations of our colleagues and customers.

YWCA Women of Professional Excellence Award: Ilah Adkins, AVP, Legal Counsel, Ohio, and Carrie Carpenter, VP, Director of Public Affairs, Ohio, received the YWCA Women of Professional Excellence Award. They were both honored for their outstanding achievements in the community.

Team NEO Economic Development Impact Award: Charter One was honored with a Team NEO Economic Development Impact Award for Minority Job Creation/Retention. Charter One was chosen by Inside Business magazine and Team NEO, a leading economic development organization in Northeast Ohio, as the recipient of the first annual award for its contribution to creating jobs in the minority community. Inside Business and Team NEO cited Charter One's status as the No. 1 SBA lender and its UPtown Initiative, Charter One's economic development program in six Cleveland neighborhoods.

Association for Better Community Development, Inc. gave Charter One a Helping Hand Award for Outstanding Suppor

Cleveland Public Power: Charter One received a top customer award from Cleveland Public Power at their 100th anniversary event.

The Town Crier featured Charter One in their “Best of” edition. Charter One was voted as the best mortgage bank by readers in the Austintown/Boardman/Youngstown area.

2006 United Black Fund Silver Anniversary Appreciation Award was awarded to Charter One at its 25th anniversary event
