2012 Best of Business Award - New Hampshire
Citizens Bank was recognized with a Best of Business Award from the New Hampshire Business Review. Every year, the New Hampshire Business Review polls its readers on who are the best companies to do business with across the state. More than 3,600 readers voted on 80 different business categories, selecting Citizens Bank as the winner in the commercial lending category.

2011 TNS Award - Citizens Financial Group
Citizens Financial Group, Inc. was recognized with a national TNS Choice Award from TNS, the world's largest custom research company. Winners of the award have shown themselves to be the preferred choice among customers by their strong performance in attracting new customers, satisfying and retaining customers, and winning a larger share of their customers' total banking business.

2010 ath Power Small Business Banking Study Award - Citizens Financial Group
Citizens Financial Group, Inc. was named second in the nation in delivering the best experience for small business customers by the ath Power 2010 Small Business Banking Study. In addition to increased customer satisfaction, the bank's focus on understanding and serving the needs of its small-business customers has resulted in increased business for CFG over the past year, including a seven percent increase in small-business customer deposits.

2010 Small Business Association Gold Award - Rhode Island
Citizens Bank received the SBA Gold award as the top lender to minority owned small businesses in Rhode Island.

2010 Corporate Partner of the Year Award - Illinois
Charter One was recognized by the Adler Planetarium for its continued partnership and commitment to providing community members with access to the museum through the Charter One Discount Days at the Adler program, which has offered free general admission to all planetarium visitors on nearly 200 days since 2007.

2010 Business of the Decade - New Hampshire
Citizens Bank was named the Business of the Decade in the financial services category by Business NH Magazine. Citizens Bank was honored for its industry leadership and commitment to enhancing the quality of life and economic opportunities of Granite State residents.

2010 Business of the Year - New Hampshire
The Nashua Chamber of Commerce named Citizens Bank New Hampshire its large business of the year. The bank was chosen for its commitment to help customers save to buy homes or for college educations.

2010 Corporate Partner of the Year Award - Illinois
Charter One was recognized by The Greater North Michigan Avenue Association for its continued partnership and leadership in cultivating new relationships, inspiring innovative approaches to programming, and supporting events that strengthen the local business community.

Community Commitment

2012 Angel of the Year - Michigan
On May 5, Charter One received the Angel of the Year award from Grace Centers of Hope. Charter One received this honor for its ongoing commitment to helping homeless and abused women and children throughout southeast Michigan find the courage to change their lives. Grace Centers of Hope provides a full recovery and rehabilitation campus for homeless men, women and children who have been abused or addicted to drugs and/or alcohol.

2012 Good Neighbor Award - Massachusetts
Citizens Bank was honored with the “Good Neighbor” Award by Codman Square Academy, in recognition of the donated branch space for the setup of two classrooms since 2008 as overflow space until they could move into new quarters.

2012 Q2 Corporate Challenge Champion Award - Massachusetts
Citizens Bank recognized with Cradles to Crayons’ 2012 Q2 Corporate Challenge Champion Award. This quarterly recognition award is based on a combination of volunteer hours, product collections and financial contributions.

2012 Harvest for Hunger Platinum Award - Ohio
Charter One was honored for its contribution to Harvest for Hunger, which includes donations from our colleagues and our customers.

2012 Consumer Bankers Association Joe Belew Award - Ohio
The Charter One Growing Communities program received the second place award honoring its innovative community development programs for job creation.

2012 Major Funder Award - Connecticut
Citizens Bank was recognized as a Major Funder of New London Main Street, an organization committed to revitalizing New London's historic downtown.

2012 Community Service Award - New York
Citizens Bank was awarded a 2012 Community Service Award by Colonie Senior Services. The award was given in recognition of Citizens Bank Foundation's support for the organization's senior meal program.

2012 Business Supporter of the Year - New York
Albany's Police Athletic League (PAL) awarded Citizens Bank with a Business Supporter of the Year award in 2012. Citizens Bank supported PAL in Albany with backpacks through Gear for Grades, and tickets for children in the summer program to attend a NYC Ballet performance at Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Citizens Bank also supports Holiday Lights in the Park in Albany, which is a fundraiser for PAL.

2011 HAVEN Champion of Change - Michigan
In 2011, HAVEN honored Charter One as a Champion for Change for its continued financial and volunteer contributions. Haven works to eliminate domestic violence and sexual assault across Oakland County and the surrounding communities through treatment and prevention services.

2011 Leadership Awards - Rhode Island
The Citizens Bank Foundation was awarded one of two 2011 Leadership Awards from the Rhode Island Community Food Bank on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the Food Bank’s Annual Meeting. The award recognizes the Citizens Bank Foundation’s visionary support and dedication to alleviating hunger in Rhode Island, in particular through its generous support of the Food Bank’s “Nothing” campaign.

2011 ECAS Award - Rhode Island
Citizens Bank received the annual Education Center for the Arts and Sciences Award. They received this recognition for continual support of the ECAS Theatre, which promotes the performing arts and theatre to Latino youths and adults as well as exposing the public to Latin American playwrights.

2011 Partner of the Year Award - Rochester, New York
Citizens Bank received the Partner of the Year Award, presented by Neighborworks® Rochester. The award honors an organization, company, or an individual who has shown significant support of the programs and values of Neighborworks®. The award was established to reinforce the importance of partnerships to the success of the organization, and in particular, its Healthy Blocks initiative. The 2011 award recognizes Citizens Bank Foundation's support for the "Green Blocks" program to improve the energy efficiency of homes in the Barton Street neighborhood through free energy audits, energy-saving home improvement advice, and loans and grants to homeowners who complete identified home improvements.

2011 Founder's Award - Massachusetts
Citizens Bank received the Founder's Award, presented by the Greater Boston Food Bank. The award honors a distinguished individual or organization that shows unwavering leadership and dedicated service in the fight to end hunger. The Greater Boston Food Bank Board of Directors recognized Citizens Bank's strong partnership with the Food Bank demonstrated by support from the foundation and colleague volunteerism through the years.

2011 Ohio City Inc. President's Award
Charter One was honored with Ohio City Inc's Presidents Award for its Charter One Growing Communities initiative. Growing Communities invests in neighborhood revitalization and small business development in the Ohio City Market District on the west side of Cleveland. Charter One Growing Communities helped create six new businesses and 40 new jobs in the neighborhood. It also supports urban farming, workforce development and health and nutrition programs.

2011 Corporate Award - Connecticut
Citizens Bank was recognized with the 2011 Corporate Award by the Yerwood Center of Stamford for providing support for the establishment of the Yerwood Teen Center in 2010, which was served nearly 1,000 youths in the region since opening.

2011 & 2010 Corporate Community Action Award - Illinois
Charter One was honored by CEDA (Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County) for the bank's commitment to economic and community development, including providing financial services to underserved communities and promoting financial literacy education.

2011 Community Relations/Cause Marketing Excellence Award - Rhode Island
The Nothing Campaign, a program underwritten by Citizens Bank Foundation and the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, was awarded the Community Relations/Cause Marketing Excellence Award from the Public Relations Society of America's Southeastern New England Chapter. Nothing was presented the award due to its attention to local members of the community who cannot put food on their own tables. This program increased awareness and funds for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Cans of nothing were sold in 137 retail stores across the state during the summer of 2010.

2011 Corporate Partner Award - Connecticut
Citizens Bank was awarded the 2011 Corporate Partner Award by the Connecticut Association of Foster and Adoptive Parents (CAFAP). Citizens Bank and CAFAP have partnered on a number of events over the past five years, including the Gear for Grades program.

2010 Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre 25th Anniversary Recognition Award - Rhode Island
Citizens Bank, Rhode Island was awarded the Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre 25th Anniversary Recognition Award from the Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. During the theatre's 25th Anniversary year they recognized organizations whose commitment to them has made a remarkable impact on their work at the theater. Citizens Bank was recognized as one of their outstanding partner organizations since they continually support the theatre and its projects.

2011 Major Funder Award - Connecticut
Citizens Bank was recognized as a Major Funder of New London Main Street, an organization committed to revitalizing New London's historic downtown.

2011 Community Service Award - Pennsylvania
Citizens Bank was presented with the Community Service Award by the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corp. in recognition of many years of support for the Chinatown community.

2010 Corporate Courage Award - Massachusetts
Citizens Bank received the Corporate Courage Award, presented by the Mayor's Office of New Bostonians. This accolade recognizes Citizens Bank's commitment in creating opportunities for Boston's diverse communities to thrive and be successful. The Mayor's Office of New Bostonians exists to strengthen the ability of immigrants and the diverse cultural and linguistic communities of which they are a part to fully participate in the economic, civic, social and cultural life of the City of Boston, and to promote the commemoration and public understanding of the contributions of immigrants.

2010 Perennial Award - Pennsylvania
Citizens Bank was awarded the Perennial Award by WorkReady Philadelphia for providing summer internship opportunities for local youth each year since the agency's founding in 2003.

2010 Jens Jensen Corporate Partner of the Year Award - Illinois
Parkways named Charter One its Corporate Partner of the Year in recognition of bank colleagues’ engagement and frequent volunteerism, as well as Charter One’s role as a lead corporate supporter of Parkways initiatives including the Buckingham Foundation Restoration; the Buckingham Fountain 5K Fun Run and Walk; and GALApalooza, the official preview party of Lollapalooza; along with numerous youth and family programs.

2010 Distinguished Corporate Leadership Award – Illinois
Charter One was honored by SOS Children’s Villages Illinois in recognition of the bank’s leadership and support, which have made a significant impact in the lives of children and in advancing the organization’s mission. In particular, Charter One’s support has been instrumental to the success of SOS’s Educational Enrichment program, which is designed to meet the learning needs of children as individuals.

2010 Meals on Wheels Support Award - New York
Citizens Bank was honored by Meals on Wheels Programs and Services of Buffalo, New York for its support of the home-delivery meal program. Meals on Wheels provides nutritionally balanced meals delivered with care by an army of volunteers to any Buffalo or Erie County resident who cannot shop or cook for themselves due to advanced age, illness or disability. By doing so, thousands of individuals can maintain their independence and remain in their homes.

2010 Battered Women's Shelter of Summit and Medina Counties, Peace Award - Ohio
Charter One was recognized for its support of the organization which enabled clients to achieve self-sufficiency and volunteer efforts supporting survivors of domestic violence.

2010 Stark County Board of Realtors/Affiliate of the Year - Ohio
Charter One was recognized as the Stark County Association of Realtors “Affiliate of the Year” for its engagement and commitment to community-based housing organizations in Stark County.

2010 Healthy Lifestyle Award - Massachusetts
Citizens Bank was recognized by Roxbury Comprehensive Community Health Center for its extraordinary efforts in improving the health & well-being of their fellow citizens. RoxComp provides primary healthcare and social services to people of all ages, regardless of their ability to pay.

2010 Public Service Award - Massachusetts
The Boston Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Boston Bar Association, presented its 2010 Public Service Award to Citizens Bank for its outstanding commitment to the local community.

2012 Boston Business Journal Best Places to Work - Massachusetts
Citizens Bank was named as one of the Best Places to Work in Massachusetts in the Boston Business Journal’s tenth annual regional awards program. The honor recognizes Citizens’ achievements in creating a positive work environment that attracts and retains employees through a combination of employee satisfaction, working conditions and company culture.

2010 & 2009 Citizens Financial Group honored for family-building benefits
Citizens Financial Group was honored by Conceive Magazine as the top company nationwide in offering family-building benefits, including fertility treatment and adoption assistance. Conceive, a national publication devoted to pre-pregnancy health and fertility, ranks the top companies in America that continue to help employees build their families.

2010 & 2009 Citizens Financial Group tops national list of adoption-friendly workplaces
Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption honored CFG for the fourth consecutive year as the Best Adoption-Friendly Workplace in the financial services industry, as well as No. 2 on the foundation's top 100 U.S. employers in 2009 and 2010.

Environmental Impact

2011 Green Building of the Year - Connecticut
The RBS Americas building in Stamford was recognized as the "Green Building of the Year" by Business New Haven as part of the publication's 2011 Green Business Awards.

2010 RBS Stamford Building Recognized With Climate Change Leadership Award - Connecticut
The RBS Americas Headquarters building in Stamford was among the winners of the 2010 Connecticut Climate Change Leadership Awards which were announced by Governor M. Jodi Rell on June 7, 2010. The Connecticut Climate Change Leadership Awards Program was developed by the Governor’s Steering Committee on Climate Change to recognize individuals and organizations from across the state who have taken exemplary action in the past year to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The RBS Americas Headquarters in Stamford was built to meet the highest environmental standards for office buildings in the United States and has received a ‘Gold’ ranking by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Ranking System.

2010 Green Business Award - Connecticut
Business New Haven named Citizens Bank a Green Business Award recipient in the Green Consumer Education / Initiative category. Citizens was cited for its innovative Green$ense program. Green$ense rewards customers ten cents for each electronic payment they make, up to $10 a month and $120 per year. The economic benefits Green$ense has provided for customers in its first year augmented significant benefits to the environment - more than 840,000 gallons of water, nearly 90,000 pounds of paper and more than 1,000 trees saved. The incentive program also prevented nearly three million pounds of CO2 emissions.
